ORG elections 2012: Yay! Democracy!

I’m standing for election to the Open Rights Group‘s board of directors.

The Board is the governing body of the Open Rights Group, and meets every two months. It appoints the Executive Director, oversees the work and strategy of the organisation, ensures that we fulfill our aims and objectives, and grows in size and effectiveness. They appoint the Advisory Council to help with policy. They approve the annual accounts and deal with our legal duties as a company. Board members are also welcome to attend Advisory Council meetings and help with the professional work of the organisation.

I’ll be using this blog to talk about the Open Rights Group with colleagues, candidates, supporters and anyone else who takes an interest. I’m keen to hear your comments, suggestions and criticisms of ORG, and your ideas for ways in which we could improve.

I’m looking forward to the conversation and to focusing on digital rights issues again – whether or not I’m elected. Fun times!

You can read more about me and my previous work for the group elsewhere on this site. You can also contact me or leave a comment with your questions and suggestions. If you’re at ORGCon this weekend then come and chat to the candidates at the election hustings or drop me a line on Twitter if you’d like to say hello in person.

So what do you want to see from the ORG board in future?
